ElkY and Duhamel headline WPT Marrakech final table

It’s not very often that you get a final table that includes a former World Series of Poker Main Event Champion and one of the four Triple Crown winners in poker, but this is precisely what the World Poker Tour has going for it as the final table of the WPT Marrakech gets started.

Headlining the 9-player in Morocco will be 2010 WSOP Main Event Champion Jonathan Duhamel as well as Triple Crown winner (and recently beaten kick-boxer) Bertrand “ElkY” Grosspellier; both members of Team PokerStars Pro. In addition to ElkY and Duhamel the final table features a third Team PokerStars Pro member in the form of French superstar Arnaud Mattern.

With a nine player final table instead of the usual six-player affairs, and with eight of the nine players heading into the final day with healthy chip-stacks this could be one of the best WPT final tables in quite some time. The current chip-leader is Mohamed Ali Houssam who won the Marrakech Poker Open back in May at the same Casino.

Here is a look at the final table chip-counts for the WPT Marrakech Main Event:

1. Mohamed Ali Houssam — 1,330,000

2. Jonathan Duhamel — 1,126,000

3. Hassan Fares — 1,110,000

4. Toufil Ourini — 1,054,000

5. Arnaud Mattern — 952,000

6. Bertrand Grospellier — 904,000

7. Rodney Assous — 813,000

8. Maksim Martinov — 646,000

9. Sebastien Ta — 282,000

A number of US poker pros made the trek to Marrakech, some of them already living abroad, thanks to the embargo on online poker in the US, and many are left asking, where can I play online poker in the US?
