wsop 2013Day 4 of the 2013 World Series of Poker Main Event came to a close on Friday with 239 players still in contention for the coveted title. While a number of poker players were busy accumulating chips the moment of the day came when poker legend Doyle Brunson was eliminated in 409th, marking the fifth decade (yes, you read that right, decade) that Doyle has cashed in the WSOP Main Event. He exited the 2013 WSOP Main Event to a stirring round of applause.

Here is a look at the 10-time WSOP bracelet winner, and two-time WSOP Main Event Champion’s resume in the most prestigious tournament in poker, where he has finished 4th or better on six occasions –a record for WSOP Main Event final tables made:

* 1972 WSOP Main Event: 3rd place

* 1976 WSOP Main Event: 1st place

* 1977 WSOP Main Event: 1st place

* 1980 WSOP Main Event: 2nd place

* 1982 WSOP Main Event: 4th place

* 1983 WSOP Main Event: 3rd place

* 1997 WSOP Main Event: 16th place

* 2004 WSOP Main Event: 53rd place

* 2013 WSOP Main Event: 409th place

Doyle wasn’t the only big name player to hit the rail on Friday, as players like Melanie Weisner, ElkY, James Bord, Isaac Haxton, Mike Mizrachi, Erik Seidel, Humberto Brenes, Mike Watson, Christian Harder, Jake Cody, Allen Cunningham, Marcel Luske, and Luke Schwartz all saw their WSOP run end after making the money. In all 666 players began Day 4, with 227 hitting the rail, although the blow was somewhat softened for most of them as they cashed in the WSOP Main Event.

Still, a number of recognizable names are still in the hunt for the 2013 WSOP Main Event final table. Among the remaining 239 players are Grayson Ramage, Brett Richey, Vladimir Geshkenbein, David Benefield, Mark Newhouse, Jackie Glazier, Max Steinberg, Yevgeniy Timoshenko, Rep Porter, Ashton Griffin, Bryan Pelligrino, Annette Obrestad, JC Tran, Ronnie Bardah (who along with Christian Harder cashed in their fourth consecutive WSOP Main Event), Kyle Julius, Vivek Rajkumar, Vitaly Lunkin, Marvin Rettenmaier, 2012 Main Event winner Greg Merson, Noah Schwartz, Steve Gee, Jonathan Jaffe, Amit Makhija, 2001 Main Event winner Carlos Mortensen, Greg Mueller, and Kristy Gazes.
