Huge $1k NLHE field pared down to 45 hopefuls
Only two tournaments were in action on the Fourth of July at the 2011 WSOP; one being the $50k Players Championship, and the other the final, and largest, $1k NLHE of the 2011 WWSOP.
What turned out to be the second largest $1k No Limit Holdem tournament in World Series of Poker history –attracting 4,576 entrants over the course of the two starting days– is looking like a candidate for the Hard-Stop Rule as 45 players remain heading into Day 3 of the tournament –the Hard Stop Rule has been affecting most tournaments with 35 or more players heading into the final day.
Amongst the remaining players in the field are quite a few big names for a $1k NLHE tournament including Max Lykov and Pierre Neauville. All of the remaining players are deep into the money –guaranteed at least $13k—but have their eyes set on the nearly $650k first-place prize-money.
Here is a look at the top 10 chip counts heading into what is supposed to be the final day of the event:
1. Anibal Andres – 799,000
2. Stanislav Alekhin – 786,000
3. Terrance Eishens – 709,000
4. Christopher Chatman – 524,000
5. Matthew LaGarde – 517,000
6. Jeffrey Manza – 503,000
7. Nahabedian Raffi – 477,000
8. Jason Bigelow – 476,000
