Ivey and Negreanu make Final Table of WSOP APAC Event 3

wsopapacEvent #3 at the World Series of Poker Asia Pacific (WSOP APAC) tournament series may have only drawn 81 entrants to the Crown Casino’s poker tables, but the 81 players read like a who’s who of the poker world, with the likes of Phil Hellmuth, Phil Ivey, Daniel Negreanu, Dan Kelly, Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier, Joe Cheong, Joe Hachem, Jonathan Duhamel, and Barry Greenstein just some of the names who took a shot at the $2,200 buy-in Mixed Game tournament.

With such a star-studded field it should come as no surprise that the final table is absolutely loaded; with perhaps the two best-known poker players in the world leading the way, Phil Ivey and Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu. The two superstars are sitting in first and second place heading into Wednesday’s final table and will be in search of their fifth and ninth WSOP bracelet respectively.

With a $162,000 prize-pool the winner is only set to receive about $50,000, but for Ivey and Negreanu the prize-money is secondary to the bracelet. Ivey has been hoarding bracelets for the past few years and has a legitimate chance of catching Phil Hellmuth –not to mention the seven-figure bracelet bets he is reported to have.

Here is a look at Ivey’s career bracelet tally:

* 2000 — $2,500 Pot Limit Omaha

* 2002 — $2,500 7 Card Stud Hi/Lo

* 2002 — $2,000 S.H.O.E.

* 2002 — $1,500 7 Card Stud

* 2005 — $5,000 Pot Limit Omaha

* 2009 — $2,500 No-Limit 2-7 Draw Lowball

* 2009 — $2,500 Omaha Hi/Lo / 7 Card Stud Hi/Lo

* 2010 — $3,000 H.O.R.S.E.

For Negreanu the WSOP has been hit or miss over the years, with Kid Poker making his bones in 1998 at the WSOP, and collecting more bracelets in 2003, 2004 (Negreanu was the WSOP Player of the Year in 2004), and his last bracelet coming five years ago in 2008.

Here is a look at the final table chip counts and seating assignments in Event #3 at the 2013 WSOP APAC:

* Seat 1: Graeme Putt — 36,400

* Seat 2: Daniel Negreanu — 129,000

* Seat 3: Phil Ivey — 144,300

* Seat 4: Rob Campbell — 42,600

* Seat 5: Brandon Wong — 86,100

* Seat 6: Kevin Song — 49,600

* 2nd place: $32,039

* 3rd place: $22,427

* 4th place: $16,336
