Putting “The Master” alongside other World Series of Poker legends as Phil Ivey and Billy Baxter, Men Nguyen captured his 7th WSOP gold bracelet yesterday in the $10,000 Seven Card Stud World Championship. Only Erik Seidel, Johnny Moss, Johnny Chan, Doyle Brunson, and Phil Hellmuth have more WSOP hardware than Nguyen.

Working his way through 150 of the best poker players and Stud specialists in the world, and was able to best Brandon Adams, who is considered more of a cash-game player.  The Mike Mizrachi/Vladimir Schmelev show that began in the Players Championship –where the two finished 1st and 2nd—saw the pair make their second final table with Mizrachi ending the tournament in 6th place and Schmelev in 7th.

With everything else going on, the day belonged to the almost always affable Men Nguyen, who spent the better part of the tournament talking it up and needling opponents, while at points playing his cards blind!

According to Card Player, the 4-time Card Player Magazine Player of the Year at one point told his heads-up opponent Adams, “I got six bracelets man. I want one more! How many you got? One? None? Don’t worry, you beat Men “The Master” and you’ll be famous tomorrow!”
