Poker’s biggest names vie for WSOP crown
With 4 Days in the books the 2010 World Series of Poker Main Event has burst the money bubble and left just 574 players still in contention for the near $9 million first-place payday. Among those 574 hopefuls are a slew of poker’s biggest stars, including a number of online poker pros. The two players who have positioned themselves the best are Phil Galfond and Johnny Chan.
Galfond, probably more widely known by his online poker screen-name OMGClayAiken, who currently sits in 5th place on the leader-board is one of the most successful online poker pros in the short history of the Internet age of poker. Galfond is also the owner and instructor at BlueFirePoker.com, and already has a WSOP bracelet to his credit.
Chan is one of the most recognizable poker players in the world thanks to his 10 WSOP bracelets, 2 Main Event Championships, and of course his immortalization in the movie Rounders. Currently in 13th place overall, Chan is very near the top of the leader-board, and has been amongst the chip leaders throughout the tournament. Winning his 3rd Main Event would be one hell of a way to tie Phil Hellmuth for most bracelets all-time with 11, as well as joining Stu Ungar as the only players to win three World Series of Poker Main Events.
