2011 EPT Grand Finale heats up on Day 2

The 2011 EPT Grand Finale may have seen a 20% drop in attendance –thanks a lot US government—but the field is as star-studded as ever – thanks European poker sites -, and with a €1.5 million first-place prize on the line you can bet that every player remaining is as focused as ever.

On Day 2 of the tournament a number of top young poker talents surged up the leader-board as names like Melanie Weisner, Ben Wilinofsky, William Reynolds, Andrew Li, Allen Bari, Will Molson and other young pros join the likes of more seasoned pros such as Ted Forrest, Victor Ramdin, Dan Heimiller, and Ivan Demidov among the 104 players still in the hunt for the title.

1.    Ole Kristian Nergard — 726,000
2.    Kristoffer Thorsson — 701,500
3.    Daniel Weinman — 676,000
4.    Hugo Lemaire — 658,000
5.    Melanie Weisner — 543,500
6.    William Reynolds — 541,500
7.    Jose Nadal — 533,500
8.    Ben Wilinofsky — 533,000
9.    Simon Higgins — 517,500
10.    Victor Ramdin — 494,500

The final elimination on Day 2 saw the money bubble burst, so each of the remaining players is now guaranteed a minimum payday  of €15,000 when they return to the poker tables at 12:00 on Tuesday; Day 3 will end when just 24 players are left in the tournament.
