Another UK Champion crowned on the PokerStars EPT

pokerstars ept winnerPrior to the San Remo stop, Season 7 of the PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) had already crowned three champions hailing from the United Kingdom, and for the second year in a row a UK player was crowned champion at the EPT San Remo.

The winner of the EPT San Remo Main Event is 24 year-old Rupert Elder, who followed in the footsteps of last year’s champion, and his fellow countrywoman Liv Boeree. Elder becomes the fourth UK champion on Season 7 of the EPT joining the likes of Toby Lewis, David Vamplew and Roberto Romanello.

Elder defeated field of 987 poker players on his way to capturing the EPT San Remo title, as well as the  €930,000 in first-place prize-money. Amongst the final table participants defeated by Elder was Team PokerStars Pro Max Lykov from Russia, who had the opportunity to become the first repeat winner on the EPT before bowing out in 4th place.

Here is a look at the final table payouts from the EPT San Remo Main Event:

1.    Rupert Elder — €930,000
2.    Max Heinzelmann — €600,000
3.    Xuan Liu — €360,000
4.    Max Lykov — €290,000
5.    Francesco De Vivo — €220,000
6.    Massimiliano Manigrasso — €170,000
7.    Costantino Russo — €125,000
8.    Roberto Spada — €81,950

The next stop on the EPT tour will be in Madrid for the Grand Finale of Season 7, which will include the Champion of Champions invitational tournament.
