While most of the poker world was following the breaking news regarding PokerStars potentially purchasing Full Tilt Poker the biggest names in poker were busy playing down to the final table of the European Poker Tour Super-High-Roller tournament in Monte Carlo on Tuesday.

The final table of the EPT Super-High-Roller taking place at the EPT Grand Final tournament series in Monaco is now set, and what a final table it is, with seven of the top poker players in the world along with a regular in the High-Roller events around the world Masa Kagawa.

Unfortunately, only six of these players are going to cash in the tournament, so two players will be going home after two-plus days of play with nothing but a €100,000 or €200,000 hole in their pocket depending on how many times they entered the tournament!

Bonomo will take a huge chip-lead into the final table, owning a chip-stack of nearly 4.4 million, while his nearest competitor, Tobias Reinkenmeier has roughly a third of that amount with just under 1.7 million in chips. Patrik Antonius, Jonathan Duhamel and Eugene Katchalov are all nursing short-stacks of under 1-million chips.

Rounding out the final table are recent EPT Berlin High-Roller Champion Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier and Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu. All told the final table has over $50 million in career tournament winnings, to go along with their 7 WSOP bracelets, a WSOP Main Event win, 2 EPT titles, 4 WPT titles, and one Triple Crown – not a bad combined resume!

1. Justin Bonomo – 4,393,000

2. Tobias Reinkemeier – 1,682,000

3. Daniel Negreanu – 1,581,000

4. Bertrand Grospellier – 1,265,000

5. Masa Kagawa – 1,076,000

6. Jonathan Duhamel – 654,000

7. Patrik Antonius – 338,000

8. Eugene Katchalov – 262,000

With a minimum cash worth over €300,000 the difference between 7th place and 6th place will be €400,000, and even with the money these players possess a half-million-dollar swing is serious business! Of course, the remaining players are all hoping to be on the receiving end of the €1.6 million first-place prize, or perhaps even the €1 million the runner-up will receive.

The tournament will resume at 1 PM CET, and the players will go until a winner is crowned.
