FTOPS XX

The Full Tilt Online Poker Series, or FTOPS for short, is one the largest poker tournaments series in online poker.  Run multiple times a year, this event awards Millions in prize money as well as a FTOPS championship jersey.

The FTOPs XX will continue even though Full Tilt stopped accepting US poker players after the fraud charge on “Black Friday”.

FTOPS Series Details

FTOPS is a series of medium and high buy-in events that draws both professional and amateur players from around the world.  Unlike many online poker tournaments series, FTOPS is not predominately NL Hold’em.  Event are spread in every discipline of poker offered on the website.  In addition, the FTOPS series also offers both Rush Poker tournaments and Multi-Entry tournaments.

Each event has a guarantee starting at $50,000 and going up depending on the event.  There are numerous events with guarantees exceeding $1 Million.  For example, the upcoming FTOPS XX has 13 events with guarantees of $1 Million or more.  In addition to the prize pools up for grabs in each event, players are also playing for a custom FTOPS Jacket and the coveted FTOPS Championship Jersey.  Every player that makes the final table of a FTOPS events get a limited-edition jacket.  The winner of each event get a gold FTOPS jersey as well as having a gold jersey avatar on their Full Tilt account.

Points are tracked for every finish in a FTOPS event and the player that finishes at the top of the leaderboard at the series’ end will receive a special prize.  They will receive a custom Full Tilt Poker avatar and a prize package that will give them free entries into nearly every event in the next FTOPS Event.  (The Two-Day event and the $10k Heads-Up Events are excluded from this prize.)

FTOPS XX Series Highlights

There are several events of note in FTOPS events.  The first is the $10,000 Heads-Up event.  With a $1 Million guarantee, this event will draw the best and brightest among the online grinders and online professional.  Event #40 is the $2,000 NL with ante from the start event with a $2.5 Million guarantee.  This smallish field should be another all-star caliber event.  Next, there are multiple NL multi-entry events with guarantees of at least $2 Million.   The first is the opening $216 NL event with a guaranteed $3 Million guaranteed prize pool.   These events should draw huge fields and give players multiple opportunities to cash.

The FTOPS XX Main Event has one of the largest guarantees in online poker history.  The $640 Multi-Entry NL Hold’em event will have a guarantee of $7.5 Million.  The last FTOPS Main Event well exceeded it’s guarantee, so if this one holds to that pattern, you may be looking at a prize pool approaching 9 or even 10 Million.

How to Qualify

Full Tilt offers a series of online poker satellites into every FTOPS event.  Whether you are a multi-table satellite expert or you prefer the single table Sit-N-Go route, you can find a way to satellite your way in.  Satellites start as cheap as just a few FTP’s and go up from there.

Satellites run around the clock for events and will run up until near the end of registration for each event.  As you get closer to the start time for an event, be on the lookout for special Super-Turbo satellites that start each player with just 100 chips.  While these involve a lot more luck than a typical Sit-N-Go, they can prove very profitable and a ultra-fast way to get your seat.
