High-stakes poker Rui Cao and Isildur1 were playing a session of $25/$50 PLO on PokerStars when Cao expressed his interest in taking on Isildur1 in the PokerStars Superstar Showdown challenge match. Cao, who plays at PokerStars under the name ‘PepperoniF’, but is better known by his Full Tilt Poker handle ‘gohanounet’, is likely to be pushed to the back of line considering he is a Full Tilt Poker sponsored pro, but Isildur1 also explained that there seems to already be a long waiting list to get in on the challenge:

PepperoniF: wanna start asap if you are ok with 4plo
Isildur1: what
PepperoniF: the challenge
PepperoniF: im gohanounet/rui cao
Isildur1: I guess others are in line
Isildur1: ill mention u

According to the PokerStars blog, the next Superstar Showdown Challenge will take place shortly after the PokerStars.net Caribbean Adventure (PCA) in January, although the opponent is still unknown at this point. My guess is that PokerStars will run through its roster of sponsored players before giving a Full Tilt Poker player a shot at taking on Isildur1.

The first Superstar Showdown saw Team PokerStars Pro Isaac Haxton best Isildur1 to the tune of $41,000, playing four tables of $50/$100 No Limit Holdem.
