Charity Poker Podcast going strong after 24 hours

At the time of writing the Ironman Podcast has been going strong for over 31 hours.

After the first 24 hours of a planned 50-hour podcast the hosts of Filthy Limper Radio have set the bar very high for their second 48 hours, having interviewed such notable poker players as Greg Raymer, Chris Moneymaker, and Daniel Negreanu to name but a few of the guests who have stopped by the Ironman Podcast to support the 22Q.org Foundation.

The monumental undertaking was conceived by VegasPokerRadio.com and the 22Q.org Foundation to raise awareness and money for the 22Q11.2 Deletion Syndrome that affects up to 1-in-2,000 children. So far the podcast has raised over $3,000 for the charity, a number that will go up quite a bit when the funds from the charity poker room are added to the tally. Among the donations was a generous $400 donation from an anonymous user, a $60 donation from PokerForums.org where the owner of the site allowed the user base to exchange their PFO Points to charity donations to 22Q.

Perhaps the highlight of the day was an incredible hour-long interview with Daniel Negreanu, where the Team PokerStars Pro talked about everything from the controversy that made him aware of the podcast to his thoughts on some of the polarizing figures in poker like Matt Marafioti, Annie Duke, and Mason Malmuth.

The boys also interviewed Norman Chad, Jonathan Little, Cory Zeidman, Victor Ramdin, Kevin “KevMath” Mathers, Joe Stapleton, Matt Savage, Greg “FBT” Mueller, and the enigmatic AsianSpa who appeared on the show without disguising his voice, perhaps giving amateur sleuths the chance to positively identify him.

Other great moments included several running skits on the show that had the three hosts (in various stages of sleep deprivation) making prank calls, including waking up an individual in Pennsylvania who unfortunately has a similar number to poker pro Victor Ramdin, and trying to settle prop bets by phoning random poker rooms around the country.

The entire podcast will be available in downloadable 2-hour segments which are available by donating ANY amount to the 22Q.org foundation.

There is still plenty of live show remaining, with plenty of big names still scheduled including baseball All-Star Ryan Dempster, 2006 WSOP Champion Jamie Gold, Jared Tendler, and Shannon Schorr, to name a few. You can listen to the Ironman Podcast here: http://www.podcastvegas.com/listen-live/
