PokerNewsBoy MascotEvery day the poker world is inundated with more news, reports, and gossip, than any of us can read. At PokerNewsBoy.com we understand that there are only so many hours in the day, and only so much time you can set aside to follow all of the stories taking place, so we have come up with the Daily Grind as a solution. The Daily Grind will make sure you don’t miss any of the more obscure poker stories, wrapping up the day in poker in one neat, concise, column.

Today I’ll take a look at a number of stories including Leo Margets joining the ranks of Team PokerStars Pro, OnGame’s newly launched version of Fast-Fold Poker, and Viktor “Isildur1” Blom’s $4 million downswing.

Leo Margets signed by PokerStars

Team PokerStars Pro announced the addition of Leo Margets to their roster on Tueday. Margets is best known for being the last woman standing in the 2009 World Series of Poker Main Event, but the Spanish poker pro has been one of the more successful female players over the years, and is now being rewarded with a Team PokerStars Pro contract.

Margets is no stranger to sponsorships, having already represented sites like 888 Poker and more recently Lock Poker, but Team PokerStars Pro is considered the pinnacle of sponsorships deals, and Margets has now reached the summit of the poker mountain. You can read more about the latest Team PokerStars Pro at the PokerStars Blog: http://www.pokerstarsblog.com/team_pokerstars_pro/2013/leo-margets-joins-team-pokerstars-pro-130728.html#.UTYEcc27qxE.facebook

OnGame Network launches Strobe Poker

Better late than never is a fitting saying for OnGame’s announcement that they will be offering their own version of fast-fold poker on Tuesday. With most of the major online poker players already offering their players fast-fold poker games OnGame’s Strobe Poker is a little late to the party, but the addition of the popular format should help bring in new players and help with player retention for the online poker network.

Viktor Blom down $4 million in last month

The only silver lining to a $4 million downswing is when it is preceded by a $5 million uptick; which is the case for Full Tilt Poker’s Viktor “Isildur1” Blom. Blom’s recent struggles have been well documented on the website highstakesdb.com where the poker phenom has been seen at lower stakes tables, and in one instance sitting with a mere $743 in a $50/$100 PLO game –Blom didn’t reload even though he was down to just over seven Big Blinds.

Earlier this year I talked about Blom’s massive winning streak and wondered if he would be able to hold on to his winnings this time around; well it seems we now have our answer.
