Today I’ll take a look at a number of stories including a massive $1.85 million pot won by Tony G, a thief at the Parx Poker Room trying to cash in the stolen chips a mere four hours after the theft, and a follow-up to an eye-opening blog post by Dusty Schmidt.

Tony G takes down a near $2 million pot

Tony G is no stranger to high-stakes action, and as the high-stakes poker player gears-up for the Party Poker Premier League he apparently played some high-stakes poker with Leon Tsoukernik, the owner of the Czech Republic’s King’s Casino. According to Tony’s blog he was taking a beating until the duo decided to increase the stakes to a ridiculous $5k/$10k which resulted in the following isildur1-esque pot:

“Basically, Leon just cracked it at the end and shoved it in blind. I ended up having aces, AAJ7 , against JJ76 I believe. We just decided to let the last hand run out and it got me out of the hole.

“Playing with the owner of the casino, Leon, it’s just a really great casino, and they take great care of me,” he added. “It’s also been profitable on top of it. Leon’s a great guy, and I’m going back there in a couple days to start again.”

Parx Casino thief steals $55k from Blackjack tray

It’s not every day that you hear about a brazen theft at a casino, and it’s even less common to hear about the thief getting away with it. This is precisely what happened at the Parx Casino in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, and the thief did get away with it… for four hours. In a story worthy of World’s Dumbest Criminals the 41-year-old returned to the casino just four hours after the crime and attempted to cash-in the stolen chips.

According to an article in the Morning Call (http://www.mcall.com/news/breaking/mc-parx-casino-blackjack-chips-thief-arrested-20130220,0,5461091.story) the man was arrested upon his return and was given a bail of $75,000 –hopefully for the man the jail accepts casino chips as bond payments.
