Full Tilt to host fundraiser for Thuy Doan

The poker community has come together to help a fellow poker pro, Thuy Doan, battle mounting medical expenses while she battles cancer –most recently is a $15,000 bill for a partial amputation of her leg. Players from a number of different sites have banded together to get the tournament scheduled on Full Tilt Poker. Two particular players have had a major hand in organizing the tournament despite their affiliation with two competitors of Full Tilt: Victory Poker pro Andrew Robl—who first notified me of the tournament through his Facebook page—and UB Poker’s Joe Sebok.

The tournament will take place on May 16th at 5PM EST. The buy-in for the tournament is $200+$100 with a full 100% of the tournament fee going directly to help pay Thuy Doan’s medical bills. The tournament can be found under the “private” tab in tournaments, or interested players can search for tournament ID 158232539.

Robl, has also offered to donate any winnings he has in the tournament directly to Doan, and Victory Poker has offered to kick-in any portion of the $15,000 the tournament fails to raise.

The 23 year-old Doan is highly respected in the poker community, and one of the true nice people in poker.
