Poker News BoyAnnie Duke working on new book

Annie Duke may receive a lot of flak from the poker community for her past transgressions, but it seems she can still make a quick buck off of her poker fame, as her Twitter account is hinting at yet another soon to be published book written by the self-proclaimed “best female poker player in the world”.

“Proofing @VanessaRousso and my heads up poker book. Really excited to see this come out this year.”

Duke also has a short E-Book she is selling, which she penned with John Vorhaus:

“If you are interested in buying a paperback copying of The Middle Zone, you can do so here:http://www.anniedukebooks.com/book/12/the-middle-zone-mastering-the-most-difficult-hands-in-holdem-poker …”

The most remarkable thing about this post is that Vanessa Rousso decided to work with Duke, even after her reputation took a massive hit in the wake of the Epic Poker League failure.

Dwan and Juanda Tweet about Lederer Files

The Lederer Files has caused quite a stir, and two former Team Full Tilt Poker pros were among the litany of people who offered up their thoughts and defenses on what Howard Lederer had to say. Tom Dwan and John Juanda both took to their Twitter accounts to refute Lederer’s words, or in the case of Dwan, corroborate what Lederer stated:

Tom Dwan @TomDwan

Just watched the last of the Lederer files and then read andybloch’s interview. I’m pretty confident the majority of what they said is true.

I knew a bit of stuff independently and what they said mainly lined up with that (although I thought Howard emphasized wrong a few times).

However the big gripe I have is both of them not realising how big of a mistake it was for ftp to accept deposits after april 15th

Also I think I have some obligation as a person/known poker player to when possible help people avoid being taken advantage of- and I messed.

Up some by not trying to make more sure that ftp had the players $$. I think the owners owed this to the players more than I did obviously.

Which makes it a bit extra ridiculous (although still understandable to me and definitely possible I wouldve made the same mistake) that so.

Few owners were willing to step up and take board seats to provide oversight….. Sorry for all the tweets- this seemed the right place.

John Juanda @LuckBoxJuanda

Howard didn’t mention in his interview that FTP management also stole 5.4M from my best friend@Erik_Seidel #LedererFiles

For the record, Howard Lederer was wrong when he said I was 2nd largest shareholder of FTP! Maybe he REALLY didn’t know!!??? #LedererFiles

I owe FTP $256K, was offered to settle for 80% but declined when I found out Ray, w/boards’ approval, was still taking home 200K+/mo post BF

Betfair leaving OnGame joining iPoker Network

With a rumored sale in the works, it seems that the new owners of the OnGame Poker Network, rumored to be the Amaya Gaming Group, will not only see bwin poker players leaving the network (as part of the sale agreement bwin players will be moved to Party Poker) but also Betfair, as the site announced a deal between Betfair and Playtech that will see Betfair join the iPoker Network.

Ian Chuter, Betfair director for group operations, said, “Betfair has built a strong relationship with Playtech over a number of years and after a full evaluation of the available options, they were the logical choice for providing us with what we now need. This deal allows us to offer a compliant Poker solution in markets where historically we have not been able to and the wider agreement is further evidence of how serious we are in providing our customers with a high quality one-stop shop for all their betting needs.”

Mor Weiser, chief executive of Playtech, said, “The French market remains a priority market for us. We believe that the combination of BetClick-Everest Group, one of the leading operators in the French market, our technology solutions reinforces our strategy on regulated markets.”
