Is Jack Binion in talks with Full Tilt Poker?

According to the website SubjectPoker.com there were some serious meetings over on Ireland this past week. The website first reported that Phil Ivey was meeting with PocketKings Ltd bigwigs, and later updated their readers with information that Jack Binion was also present in these discussions.

According to several unnamed sources Binion is in talks with Full Tilt Poker in an effort to somehow become a shareholder in the company, which would entail him aiding in paying back the site’s US poker players, who as of yet have not seen their player accounts refunded by the site.

Obviously if Binion is in talks with the site his lawyers have relayed to him that it is possible to use Full Tilt Poker software should the latest online poker legislation introduced by Rep. Joe Barton (R-TX) pass, otherwise it would make ZERO sense for Binion to purchase any part of the company, considering their CEO is currently under indictment and the site signed an agreement to leave the US market.

Another wrinkle to the story was that Binion was adamant that Phil Ivey be involved in the discussions, despite Ivey having filed a $150 million lawsuit against the site he previously owned a piece of or was in the employ of. Perhaps Binion was making sure that Ivey would drop his lawsuit should he make good to the site’s US players –but this is just adding speculation on top of speculation!

With today’s early developments it would seem that the talks between Binion and Full Tilt Poker broke down and no deal is imminent.

A special thanks to SubjectPoker who has been all over this story from the outset.
