LAPC down to 54 players: Ivey and Hellmuth eliminated

Day 3 of the WPT La Poker Classic saw the field shrink dramatically, as Phil Hellmuth, Phil Ivey, Liv Boeree, and Scott Seiver were among the over 100 players eliminated as the tournament played down to the money bubble. Ivey was the unfortunate bubble-boy in the event, eliminated in 55th place.

Mickey “Mement_Mori” Petersen wins EPT Copenhagen

The EPT Copenhagen had three superstar poker players at the final table: Steve O’Dwyer, Mickey Petersen (a PokerStars Team Online pro), and Pierre Neuville (a Team PokerStars Pro). In the end it was the online poker pro Petersen who would win the EPT title, defeating Neuville during heads-up play. Here is a look at the payouts from the tournament:

1. Mickey Petersen – 2,515,000 DKK ($455,000 USD)

2. Pierre Neuville – 1,600,000 DKK ($290,000 USD)

3. Bjarke Hansen 1,000,000 DKK ($180,800 USD)

4. Aage Ravn – 740,000 DKK ($134,000 USD)

5. Jacob Rasmussen – 490,000 DKK ($88,600 USD)

6. Niels van Alphen – 390,000 DKK ($70,500 USD)

7. Steve O’Dwyer – 290,000 DKK ($52,500 USD)

8. Spencer Hudson – 191,400 DKK ($34,600 USD)

PokerStars prepares for Season V of the Latin American Poker Tour (LAPT)

With Season IV of the PokerStars LAPT coming to a close last week, the Season V schedule has now been announced, with the opening event taking place in Vina del Mar, Chile. Other stops on the tour include Medillin, Colombia, Punta del Este, Uruguay, and Lima, Peru; the LAPT will announce other stops in the near future.

PKR Poker receives Italian license: Launches PKR.it

PKR Poker wasted little time in setting up their Italian-facing online poker site, PKR.it, after receiving their new license from the Italian Government. In a press release, Malcolm Graham, CEO at PKR said, “We’re delighted to be able to welcome Italian players to PKR.it. The Italian poker market represents an exciting opportunity for PKR and we hope that players from all over Italy enjoy the unique PKR experience.”

Everleaf opens up regarding funds seizure and withdrawal from US market

After leaving the US Market on February 9th, the Everleaf Poker Network has been very silent, but this past weekend the network decided to issue a full statement outlining their reasons for leaving the US market, as well as what will become of the player funds that were confiscated by the US government.
