Moorman and Middleton among early FTOPS XXII winners

moormanThe Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS) XXII has begun and through the first five tournaments of the popular series some well-known poker pros have already left their mark, including Tom “HittheHole” Middleton, who won the opening event, and Lock Poker pro Chris Moorman who added an FTOPS title to his long list of online poker accomplishments.

Event #1: $240 No Limit Irish Poker Knockout tournament

The first ever Irish Poker tournament in FTOPS history kicked-off the FTOPS XXII and drew a huge field of 1,522 players. The winner of the star-studded final table was Tom Middleton, who I chose as one of my 10 poker players to watch in 2013 (self-pat on the back).

Event #2: $200 No Limit Holdem Reentry tournament

Event #2 of the FTOPS XXI saw a final table deal between the final four players that saw each walk away with a hefty payday. The total number of entries for the tournament, 3,624, made Event #2 the largest of the first five FTOPS XXII events so far.

Event #3: $200 Rush PLO Tournament

Chris Moorman’s first FTOPS title came in one of the smaller events of the series, a $200 buy-in PLO tournament using the Rush Poker format. The tournament topped-out at 299 entrants giving the event a $5,000 overlay thanks to the $85,000 guarantee.

Event #4 featured a $1,000 buy-in and attracted a total of 784 players, including some of poker’s biggest names. After the elimination of poker pro Anton Wigg in 4th place a deal was struck between the remaining players which saw each pocket over $100,000.

Event #5: $200 No Limit Holdem Turbo tournament

Event #5 saw 931 players register for the NLHE Turbo tournament, which finished in right around three hours. The winner “l Caio Pimenta l” earned over $37,000; not too shabby for three hours of work!
