Just hours after PokerStars unveiled its latest signing by way of the PokerStars Blog, Isildur1 could be found by playing a heads-up match of $50/$100 PLO against “MrSweets28”, who just happens to be online poker legend and BlueFire Poker coach and owner Phil “OMGClayAiken Galfond!

Railbirds will not only get the chance to watch Isildur1 –PokerStars will reveal his true identity in the near future, answering the question, Who is Isildur1?– in typical high-stakes games, but will also have the opportunity to watch him, or if they have the bankroll can challenge him, in what PokerStars has dubbed the ‘SuperStar Showdown’ which is a 2,500-hand session of high-stakes poker played across four tables of NLHE or PLO at stakes of $50/$100 and higher! The winner will receive a $10k bonus from PokerStars.

As PokerStars puts it: “If you have the bankroll, you can challenge Isildur1 to a SuperStar Showdown match. Simply send an email to showdown@pokerstars.com to issue the challenge. Please Note: Only serious applicants will get a response.”

Isildur1 is already proving to be well worth whatever PokerStars is paying him, as the online poker forums from 2+2 to PocketFives have lit up with gossip and speculation surrounding the signing of Isildur1 –including who he really is, what type of games and stakes he’ll be playing, and of course what the deal is like!

Having Isildur1 could also pull some of the high-stakes players from Full Tilt Poker over to PokerStars as they look to challenge the mysterious Swedish high-roller who is known for generating huge pots and massive bankroll swings.
