PokerStars has turned into the master of the regional poker tour: Already sponsoring the Latin American Poker Tour, The European Poker Tour, and the Asian Pacific Poker Tour, the #1 online poker site has now announced the launch of the North American Poker Tour.

The initial schedule has just three stops –one being the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) that is a stop on all of their poker tours—with future plans for growth. The other two stops will be in Las Vegas Nevada at the Venetian Hotel and Casino, and the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville Connecticut. Neither casino currently hosts a major tournament which is a bit astounding since the Venetian boasts the most poker tables in Las Vegas, and Mohegan Sun reintroduced poker to its table games after a long hiatus.

Poker enthusiast Joana Krupa, of Dancing with the Stars fame, will be the hostess, and PokerStars will likely reveal a television deal for the events in the near future. With Party Poker’s recent acquisition of the World Poker Tour –which focuses on stops in the United States—the NAPT could rise to be the WPT’s main rival.
