A look at the remaining US online poker rooms

Since Black Friday forced the three largest online poker rooms in the United States to leave the market, the void has been partially filled by a number of smaller sites and networks that had been plugging along in anonymity prior to the April 15th crackdown by the DOJ and FBI. In this article I will take a look at the remaining US online poker sites and how Black Friday has affected their business.

The Merge Gaming Network: Carbon Poker, Sportsbook Poker (Play Aces), Lock Poker

·    Peak Traffic pre-Black Friday between 1,200-1,500 real-money cash-game players
·    Peak Traffic post-Black Friday between 2,000-2,300 real-money cash-game players

Bodog Poker

·    Peak Traffic pre-Black Friday about 1,200 real-money cash-game players
·    Peak Traffic post-Black Friday about 1,500 real-money cash-game players

The Cake Poker Network: Cake Poker, Victory Poker, Unabomber Poker

·    Peak Traffic pre-Black Friday about 900 real-money cash-game players
·    Peak Traffic post-Black Friday about 1,100 real-money cash-game players

The Everleaf Poker Network: Raider Poker, Everleaf Poker

·    Peak Traffic pre-Black Friday about 800 real-money cash-game players
·    Peak Traffic post-Black Friday about 800 real-money cash-game players

The Yatahay Poker Network: Doyles Room, True Poker

·    Peak Traffic pre-Black Friday about 250 real-money cash-game players
·    Peak Traffic post-Black Friday 9numbers not available yet) real-money cash-game players

The Merge Gaming Network appears to be the big winner, with both Bodog and the Cake Poker Network showing solid gains. Amazingly the Everleaf Network has shown zero increase in traffic at this point, but it should be pointed out that 1,000+ players who have jumped to the smaller networks are only a tiny fraction of US online poker players; most of who are apparently waiting for the dust to settle before going in search of online poker bonuses at new poker sites.
