As more fallout continues to litter the battlefield in the wake of the Jose “Girah” Macedo scamming revelations, Macedo’s backer/agent, and chief defender, Haseeb “DogIsHead” Quereshi has been let go by Cardrunners. The move was announced after several details have come to light regarding his involvement with Macedo, specifically citing an admitted Multi-Accounting infraction on Lock Poker, and was more than likely made in an attempt to stave off any bad publicity should Quereshi’s involvement in the unraveling saga deepen.

Since the scamming allegations first came to light, and were later verified by Macedo himself, Quereshi’s involvement has fallen under closer scrutiny, with everything from hard facts to Roswell/Area 51 conspiracy theories being flouted on the poker forums, most notably at 2+2. Throughout the unraveling scandal, Quereshi has admitted to a number of minor transgressions, after first denying many of them, which has brought him squarely in the crosshairs of the 2+2 community –who always seem to flush out the details of precisely what happened.

In light of this, Cardrunners, where Quereshi has been a coach an avid blogger for some time, issued a simple statement indicating that they would be parting ways with the controversial figure. Here is a look at the statement given by Cardrunners:

Effective immediately, CardRunners has decided to part ways with Haseeb Qureshi. While Haseeb is a talented instructor, he has shown poor judgement in using a stakee’s poker account for his own play. We’ve informed Haseeb of this decision and it is final.

Quereshi has been involved in a number of controversial scenarios in the poker world, including the Ashston Griffin running prop-bet, and also allegations made by Quereshi that he was hacked while playing heads-up poker, and lost most of his bankroll to this hacker, as well as dropping $500k to Isildur1 in the same time period.

As the story continues to unravel it seems we have only scratched the surface when it comes to Quereshi’s involvement, and while the 2+2 community focuses on the obviously implicated Quereshi, they haven’t even scratched the surface as to whether or not Daniel “jungleman12” Cates is involved in any way. So, I’m sure once Quereshi’s involvement has been flushed-out or lines of questioning have been exhausted, jungleman12 will be next up in the 2+2 crosshairs!
