Nine Pennsylvania Casinos have applied for the full licenses

By 15th July, 2018, only three Pennsylvania licensed casinos had applied for the gaming licensed but six more has submitted their application during the last minute rush. All these applications are being made through the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.

These applicants are Mount Airy, Hollywood Casino, Parx, Sands Bethlehem, Stadium Casino, Valley Forge, Rivers Casino, Harrah’s Philadelphia and Sugarhouse Casino. All these nine casinos will be paying the $10 million license fee which will allow them to offer peer to peer online poker services, online slot games and online table games. We are hopeful that all these applications will be successful and we will be seeing reviews of the new Pennsylvania online gambling sites on SlotsEdge.com.

There are four more casinos in Pennsylvania that have not applied for the licenses. The first deadline has already passed but they can apply for the licensed but this time round they will be paying $4 million for each online gaming product they wish to offer. If they want to offer the three available elements, they will end up paying $12 million unlike in the first round where you would have only paid $10 million. These four casinos are Lady Luck Casino Nemacolin, Mohegan Sun, Presque Isle Downs and meadows Casino.

Ironically, Sheldon Adelson has applied for the license

Sands Bethlehem is owed by Sheldon Adelson. It is ironical for him to apply for the license considering that he has invested millions in lobbying against online gambling and trying to get the congress to ban online gambling.

But when we look at the dimension his business will be taking, this is not Adelson’s sole decision. The application has been done in the interests of his business. This was done in light of his $1.3 billion deal that the casino has will Poarch Band of Creek Indians. This deal prompts him to go for the interactive license application in good faith. The deal requires the casino to offer an interactive gaming in commonwealth of Pennsylvania after the purchasing interests of Wind Creek are fulfilled.

Will we see online poker being offered?

To have these licenses applied, some of these casinos made partnerships that will make it possible for them to launch in the industry and offer world class online gambling services.

Parx is said to partner with GAN. They are not widely known for their poker software but they have the ability to offer the necessary products if Parx want to have an online poker room. Another notable partnership is between Mount Airy and PokerStars and maybe 888. Without doubt, this is a solid partnership that assures you of a great online poker room.

Stadium casino is yet to publicize their partners but they might be collaborating with GAN. Harrah’s Philadelphia is an entity of Caesars which has a partnership with 888 in New Jersey. It would be safe to assume that this partnership will extend to Pennsylvania. As for Sands of Bethlehem, they are yet to say who they will be partnering with in offering poker services but for their interactive gaming they will be working with Poarch Band of Creek Indians.

SugarHouse Casino and Rivers Casino are entities of Rush Street Gaming and we assume that they will be running on their own online gambling platforms. Penn National has partnered with Scientific Games in several jurisdictions and we are of the notion that this partnership will continue. As for Valley Forge, they are yet to announce their partner but they have been in talks with PartyPoker which is owned by GVC.
