Andrew Badecker wins WSOP NLHE Shootout

Despite facing a very tough final table that included the likes of Vitaly Lunkin, Eric Cajelais, Dan Kelly, and David “The Dragon” Pham, 23 year-old Andrew Badecker proved to be the best on this day after winning the $1,500 No Limit Holdem Shootout tournament.

Badecker picked up his first WSOP bracelet –amazingly every winner thus far at the World Series of Poker has been a first-time winner—not to mention his biggest cash to date with the $369,371 in first-place prize-money. In addition to Badecker, there will be many happy people as he told reporters he had to sell off a lot of his action just to come to the 2011 WSOP: “Honestly, I came out pretty under bankrolled,” Badecker said after the win. “I was going to play three events, but I had to sell some action to get into all three. I was just going to see how the first few events went, and if I ran good I’d play more. I guess that’s what happened.”

It looks like we’ll be seeing Andrew Badecker in more than three events at the 2011 WSOP!

Here is a look at how the final table fared in the $1,500 NLHE Shootout tournament:

1. Andrew Badecker – $369,371

2. Robbie Verspui – $228,334

3. Daniel Makowsky – $151,379

4. Jon Spinks – $108,358

6. Dan Kelly – $58,903
