While the news of the day is squarely focused on the potential sale of Full Tilt Poker to PokerStars, another online poker site is making their own waves in the poker ocean, as Lock Poker has announced the signing of one of the top players in the game: Annette “Annette_15” Obrestad.

Obrestad recently signed with the leading global poker management and marketing company, Poker Royalty, and as we speculated at the time, it seemed like a new sponsorship deal was in the works. And sure enough mere days after Poker Royalty announced Annette as the latest player the company would be representing a deal with lock Poker was announced.

Obrestad was an Internet poker whiz kid, picking up the game at the tender age of 15. Despite starting out playing freeroll tournaments it didn’t take long for Annette to build-up a sizable real-money poker bankroll, and move on to the real-money games. Obrestad made her presence felt almost immediately, becoming one of the most feared online poker tournament players in the game.

At the age of 18 Annette was already a seasoned poker player and took her skills to the live tournament scene where she became the youngest World Series of Poker bracelet winner just days before her 19th birthday. Annette didn’t just win any WSOP event either; she managed to win the WSOP Europe Main Event and the £1 million prize that went to the winner!

“Annette is an exceptional person and player. She takes Lock to the next level. She is fierce in her passion, extraordinary in her talent and dedicated beyond most,” says Jennifer Larson CEO of Lock Poker. “Players like Annette are the eyes into the soul of the game. We intend to integrate her into all aspects of the company. Lock has taken the Poker world into a new Era where the player reigns. Partnering with our Pros is the only path to greatness!”

“I’d heard amazing things about Lock Poker from all my friends and pros who play there, and I was thrilled when I got an offer from them,” says Annette. “Being part of Lock is something I’m really excited about and it will be a great beginning of a new exciting relationship. Lock is the new generation of online poker where player experience drives the company with an incredible Pro team that I can hardly wait to work with.”

“Poker Royalty is delighted to announce the new relationship between Lock Poker & Annette. Lock is making another bold statement with a marquee signing like Annette as they continue to build their incredible team of pros,” says Jim Erwood. “These are exciting times for both Lock Poker and Annette and we look forward to the relationship blossoming.”

Annette Obrestad joins a growing list of talented poker players repping the Lock Poker brand, including Chris “Moorman1” Moorman, Lock Poker Cardroom Manager Eric Lynch, Matt Stout, Irish Open Champion Kevin Vandersmissen, and fellow female poker pros Melanie Weisner and Leo Margets.
