Another huge field in $5k NLHE at 2011 WSOP

With 732 total entrants the winner of the $5k No Limit Holdem 6-Max tournament at the 2011 World Series of Poker will be awarded over $800k in prize-money to go along with that shiny new gold bracelet, making this the third tournament at the 2011 WSOP to award over $800k to the winner.

The pros made their presence felt on Day 1 of the event with players like Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth, 2010 November Niner Matt Jarvis, Matt Hawrilenko, Shaun Deeb, Faraz Jaka, Ike Haxton, and Dave Ulliott all ending the day with at least 60k chips. Jarvis is sitting on over 300k in chips heading into Day 2 and only Randy Dorfman is even in the vicinity of the chip-leader with 280k –Daniel Negreanu is in 3rd place but well behind the two big stacks with around $160k.

175 of the original starting field of 732 players still remain in the tournament with the money bubble set to burst when just 78 players remain. Here is a look at the chip-leaders entering Day 2 of the event:

1. Matthew Jarvis – 303,800

2. Randy Dorfman – 280,000

3. Anthony Gregg – 178,900

4. Raphael Kroll – 174,500

5. Daniel Negreanu – 162,600

6. Eugene Todd – 147,500

7. Dan Santoro – 146,400

8. Jeremy Ausmus – 143,300

9. Zachary Gruneberg – 142,400

10. Tuan Le – 130,000
