The Amateur Poker Association & Tour (APAT) has partnered with GGPoker, the world’s leading poker site, to support amateur poker growth at a grassroots level. The partnership will offer APAT members access to GGPoker’s advanced platform and extensive player base to develop their skills, compete in prestigious events, and connect with poker enthusiasts worldwide.

ATP moves to GG Poker

As part of the collaboration, GGPoker will host exclusive online events for APAT members, including Championship tournaments and qualifiers for live events. Additionally, APAT’s World Championship of Amateur Poker (WCOAP) will be played exclusively online at GGPoker. This partnership will allow APAT members and GGPoker players to compete for prestigious National Amateur Championship titles, Medals, and Bracelets, as well as earn a National Amateur Ranking.

APAT CEO Leigh Wiltshire expressed excitement about the partnership, stating that it will improve the overall experience for members and attract new players to the amateur poker community. Angela Martin, GGPoker’s UK Marketing Director, added that the partnership is an opportunity to further unite the worlds of online and live poker and create a home for players to enhance their skills in a fun environment.

The partnership’s debut online event, the “Welcome Party” tournament, will be held on April 27 at 8.p.m BST, boasting a $1,000 Added Prizepool plus special prizes such as GGPoker branded merchandise and tournament tickets. The event will be live-streamed from APAT’s various social media platforms.

APAT, a stalwart in the UK poker scene, has grown significantly since its debut in 2006, holding events in countries such as Austria, Estonia, Malta, and Spain. The APAT World Championship of Amateur Poker (WCOAP) International Team Event has seen teams of poker players from around the world compete for the coveted Gold APAT Medal and Bracelet.

APAT’s 2023 live schedule includes events in the UK, Malta, Scotland, Germany, and Wales, with the World Championship of Amateur Poker (WCOAP) taking place at Dusk Till Dawn, Nottingham, in August. If you’re interested in playing in APAT events, live or online, check out the 2023 APAT Schedule.
