It was an eventful day at the 2010 World Series of poker, and as the field shrank from 204 to just 78 there was one very significant elimination: Johnny Chan. Chan was amongst the chip-leaders throughout the tournament, but saw his hopes at a third Main Event Championship and record tying 11th bracelet dashed as he hit the rail early on during Day 6.

While Chan faltered, perhaps the second best-known player left in the tournament, Mike “The Grinder” Mizrachi, was surging forward and finished Day 6 with the second most chips in the field. Mizrachi has had a monster 2010 WSOP with 4 cashes; 3 final tables; and his 1st WSOP bracelet in the $50k Players Championship. Mizrachi could tie Frank Kassela for the Player of the Year award should he win the WSOP Main Event; possibly putting the finishing touches on one of the greatest WSOP performances of all-time.

There are still a lot of sharks swimming in the waters at the Rio, including chip-leader Theo Jorgenen who built-up a near 9.3 million chip stack on Day 6.And then there is Alexander Kostritsyn, who is currently sitting in 8th place with 5.715 million in chips.
