Day 2 of the EPL: Seidel amongst chip-leaders AGAIN
Day 2 of the second Epic Poker League Main Event is now in the books with 23 players remaining in the hunt for the title, including some familiar names from the inaugural Epic Poker League Main Event as the first and second place finishers are both still alive: EPL winner Chino Rheem and runner-up Erik Seidel.
Seidel is currently sitting in 3rd place on the leader-board while Rheem is nursing a short-stack near the bottom of the chip-counts.
Two players made a huge push to the top of the leader-board on Day 2, Fabrice Soulier and David Steicke, both of whom ended the day with over 400k chips (453k for Soulier and 436 for Steicke). Seidel finished Day 2 with just over 350k in chips, and Nam Le and matt Marafioti both inched past 300k to round out the Top 5 chip counts.
Only 12 of the remaining players will make the money in the tournament, so Day 3 is shaping up to be a very important affair for the players, considering the difference between 13th place and 12th place will be the loss of a $20,000 buy-in compared to a $46,020 score –a difference of over $66,000!
Here is a look at the current chip-leaders heading into Day 3 of the tournament:
- Fabrice Soulier — 453,500
- David Steicke — 436,000
- Erik Seidel — 353,500
- Nam Le — 306,000
- Matt Marafioti — 302,000
