Many people in the industry felt that without the presence of the US high-stakes poker players the nosebleed action –especially at Full Tilt Poker—might dry up quite a bit after the US online poker sites shut down, but if anything the reverse has been true, with European high-stakes poker player taking some shots at the nosebleeds now that the likes of Tom Dwan, Daniel ‘jungleman12” Cates and the other high-powered US players are out of the picture.

One such player who has been able to pocket a huge sum in the week or so that US players have been banned from participating at Full Tilt Poker was Jens “Ingenious89” Kyllönen, who managed a near $1 million day this past week, erasing his entire 2011 deficit in a single session!

Kyllönen took on a veritable murderer’s row lineup at the $300/$600 tables, including high-stakes regulars Patrik Antoinius, Andreas “skjervoy” Torbergsen, and Gus Hansen, but it was Kyllönen who would come out as the big winner after his 1,200 hand session that saw the Scandinavian poker pro pocket an impressive $960k according to www.highstakesdb.com.

Most of Kyllönen profits came at the expense of Gus Hansen and another high-stakes PLO regular “esvedra” who both dropped over $200k during the session. As the games progress now that full tilt poker no USA players, it will be interesting to see how many players take shots at the high-stakes tables.
