EPT Champion of Champions tournament

When the European Poker Tour makes its way to Madrid –the new home of the Grand Finale—they will also be celebrating seven seasons of the EPT by inviting all of the tour’s previous champions to take part in a special invitation-only Champion of Champions tournament. Amazingly the EPT has never produced a two-time winner in some 70 tournaments –compare that to the NAPT which held a grand total of four tournaments before Vanessa Selbst was able to accomplish the feat, or the PokerStars LAPT where Jose “Nacho” Barbero managed to win back-to-back events during Season 3.

Here is a look at the prize-packages for the final four players:

·    1st place = €50,000 EPT Passport
·    2nd place = €25,000 EPT Passport
·    3rd place = €15,000 EPT Passport
·    4th place = €10,000 EPT Passport

According to PokerNewsDaily.com, 40 players have confirmed they will be in attendance for the tournament which will award $100,000 in Season 8 EPT tournament buy-ins between the final four players.

Among the players that will be taking part in the special freeroll tournament are Roland de Wolfe, Sandra Naujuks, Victoria Coren. Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier, Jason Mercier, Pascal Perrault, Liv Boeree, Arnaud Mattern, Glen Chorny, Galen Hall, and Peter Jepsen.

The EPT Champion of Champions tournament will take place the day after the Season 7 Grand Finale –giving the winner of that tournament a chance to participate in the event as well—on May 13th.
