After both players came up short in Event #15, the $5k Stud 8 or better tournament, Phil Ivey and Phil Hellmuth are right back in the swing of things, making another final day of a WSOP tournament, but this time the pair will be playing on the final of day of different events.

Event #17: $10k Pot Limit Holdem

Ivey has made the final day of Event #17, the $10k Pot Limit Holdem tournament, where he currently sits just outside the Top 10 with 180,000 chips. In addition to Ivey the final 17 players in the tournament reads like a who’s who list of poker players: Hoyt Corkins, Antonio Esfandiari, Andy Frankenberger, Shaun Deeb, Matt Marafioti, and David Benyamine, are just some of the big names still alive in the event.

Ivey is gunning for WSOP bracelet #8, and is one of the few people considered to have any chance of catching Phil Hellmuth for the all-time lead.

Event #18: $2,500 Razz

In Event #18 Phil Hellmuth is among 18 players who will return on Sunday to battle for the Razz bracelet at the 2012 WSOP. In addition to Hellmuth, the final 18 also includes chip-leader Brabdon Cantu, longtime poker player Don Zewin, Barry Greenstein, Scott Fischman, Jared Bleznick (better known as Harrington25 online), Scott Clements, and Chris “Fox” Wallace, one of the best peopled in poker in my opinion.

Hellmuth is of course looking to pad his all-time bracelet lead, as he seeks the 12th bracelet of his career.
