Jackie Glazier wins WSOPE Ladies Championship

WSOPEIt’s definitely not the biggest score of her career, but for Australian poker pro Jackie Glazier the WSOP gold bracelet she now possesses will most certainly make up for the lack of a massive six-figure score in her latest poker triumph.

Glazier won the opening event of the 2013 World Series of Poker Europe, the €1,000 buy-in Women’s Championship. The win is the first WSOP bracelet of her career, which includes a runner-up finish in a 2012 WSOP event in Las Vegas, as well as a deep run in this year’s WSOP Main Event before bowing out in 31st place as the last woman standing.

The tournament marked the first time a Women’s event was held at the World Series of Poker Europe with a gold bracelet on the line, but it might also be the last time we see such an event considering just 65 players entered the tournament.

Glazier wasn’t the only notable at the final table either, she was joined by 2012 WSOP Main Event last woman standing Gaelle Baumann, who finished just short of the official final table in 10th place. Unlike Glazier, Baumann’s day ended early with a 7th place finish.

In an interview following her victory Glazier stated:

“It is definitely a dream come true. I’ve always aspired to win a World Series bracelet and to do it here in the first-ever Europe Ladies Event is a real honor,”

Here is a look at the payouts from the tournament courtesy of the WSOP.com website:

1. Jackie Glazier – €21,850

2. Maryline Valente – €13,500

3. Laurie Bismuth – €8,950

4. Celine Bastian – €6,330

5. Nathalie Odet – €4,770

6. Sherry Lindsey – €3,800

7. Gaelle Baumann – €3,200
