Longtime poker pro Jason Somerville has had some close brushes with a World Series of Poker bracelet over the past two years, including four final tables in 2009 and 2010 with four top five finishes including a runner-up finish in the 2009 $1,500 No Limit Holdem Shootout. And on Tuesday night Somerville finally broke through with his first WSOP victory in the $1k No Limit Holdem at the 2011 World Series of Poker.

Somerville bested the huge field of over 3,000 participants over the three days of the tournament, and with Jason Mercier and Daniel Negreanu cheering him on at the final table Somerville was able to take down his first major tournament victory.

Two notable eliminations early on in Day 3 that likely made Somerville’s path to the bracelet a little bit easier were Tim West (eliminated in 15th place) and Lex Veldhuis (eliminated in 11th place). Diana Allen also became the fourth women to make a final table at the 2011 WSOP.

Here is a look at the final table payouts from the second $1k NLHE tournament at the 2011 WSOP:

1. Jason Somerville – $493,091

2. Yashar Darian – $305,009

3. Travis Atkins – $215,855

4. Richard Fridvalszki – $156,248

5. Alex Martin – $114,414

6. Gian Carlos Oliveri – $84,753

7. Diana Allen – $63,493
