On Day 3 of the Partouche Poker Tour Main Event in Cannes, France the money-bubble was burst, some big names fell by the wayside, and some other big names managed to climb the leader-board, including the chip-leader heading into Day 4 of the tournament, Juan Maceiras of Spain. Maceiras holds a small lead over the rest of the field, and was the only player to break the 800k chip mark on Day 3.

Maceiras is a member of Team PokerStars Pro (Spain), and is the brother of the top female poker player from Spain, and Everest Poker pro Maria Maceiras.

A number of big names are still in the hunt for the €1 million first-place prize including Anton Ionel, Sam Trickett, Ludovic Lacay, Roger Hairabedian, Joe Cassidy, 2011 WSOP bracelet winner Oleksii Kovalchuk, Juha Helpi, and recent Legends of Poker Champion Will Failla. Some of the notable players who managed to make the money include Arnaud Mattern, James Bord, and Freddy Deeb.

As was the case last year, once the final table participants have been decided the tournament will go on a month-long hiatus before resuming in November. All of the final table participants will earn at least €100,000, and as stated above the winner will be in line for the €1 million first-place prize-money, as well as the prestige that goes along with winning one of the biggest poker tournaments in the world.
