Leaf introduces Poker Trading Cards

Baseball card collecting sure has come a long way since I was a kid! This week Leaf announced they will be producing a series of high-end trading cards featuring real autographs from some of the top poker players in the world. Each box contains just a single pack of trading cards, and each pack contains just five autographed card!

The cards are set to be released on October 15, 2011, and at this time the price per box is unknown. Here is a look at the product highlights from the trading card site cardboardconnection.com:

* Every card is autographed.

* Nearly all signatures are on-card.

* Poker player signatures include: Johnny Chan, Doyle Brunson, Annie Duke, Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth, Greg Raymer, Jason Mercier, Annette Oberstad, Jonathan Duhamel and Tiffany Michelle.

* Celebrity signers, such as Brad Garrett, Jason Alexander, Jose Canseco, Orel Hershiser and Lou Diamond Phillips.

* Stacked Deck Autographs have signatures on actual playing cards.

* Classic Nicknames focus on some of the memorable handles players go by.

* Final Table Signatures feature autographs on poker table felt. The set returns from last year but with new signers.

* Printing plates are signed.

* Three base signature parallels.

* Nine Clover cards will be inserted. Collectors who pull them can take part in an online one table tournament. The winner will get a 2006 World Series of Poker bracelet.

It also appears that we know where one of those EBay WSOP bracelets has gone to, since the “grand-prize” being offered is a chance to play in a 9-man Sit & Go for the chance to win a 2006 WSOP bracelet –which has a gold-content price of around $5,000 last time I checked.
