Last Year’s rumors of an underage poker prodigy tearing up the online poker tables proved to be true as upon turning 18, Jose “Girah” Macedo showed up on 2+2 to confirm he is the man behind the rumors. Now Macedo finds himself as the newest member of Team Lock Poker having signed a LockPro ELITE Team contract –the same contract you can win in the Bluff Pro Challenge.

Lock Poker CEO/Owner Jennifer Larson told BLUFF Magazine: “Jose is young, brilliant and incredibly determined. He is putting a new face, age and goal to this game… He will be heavily involved in developing the product, marketing and brand in the coming months. His story is one of determination to a degree that is just unparalleled and unrivaled.”

The first hints of the Portuguese prodigy came when rumors of a Portuguese player running his bankroll up to $2 million came to light on 2+2 in April, which turned out to be not only true, but led to the revelation that Daniel “jungleman12” Cates had been coaching the youngster, who then came forward and identified himself in a separate thread.

Macedo, who is being represented by Poker Royalty, had this to sign regarding his signing with Lock Poker: “I am determined to be the best player in the world so I wanted to make sure I partnered with the best poker brand… Lock’s focus on the player experience is unique and inspiring and something I truly wanted to associate myself with. I encourage anyone to come and challenge me on Lock, and look forward to the exciting times ahead.”
