It is great news for the recently crowned winner of the €2,700 PartyPoker Live Millions Grand Final Barcelona Warm-up. He is a 25-year-old IT Student who lives in Canada. This is the first time Matan Bakrat has won his first ever live tournament. The prize amount for this was €355,000 and a trophy for beating Bartlomiej Machon heads up. On the other hand, Machon did not walk empty handed but he was awarded €265,000 to his huge amounts of wealth that he has earned in these poker tournaments and this can take him to more than 2 million lifetime live earnings.

The Warm Up which was held in the beautiful Casino Barcelona had a guaranteed cash prize of €1,000,000 but this was easily surpassed thanks to the 749 entries which brought the total prize pool to €1,816,325. Twenty players went back with their sight set on the first place prize but all of them did not make it to the final table.

The action

Without a doubt, the action at a tournament in a brick and mortar casino is incredible and the only experience close to this is when you play live casino poker from your desktop or mobile app similar to that launched recently by BetOnline Poker.

Back to the PartyPoker live millions grand final action! The final day started our wit twenty players who were guaranteed to walk home with not less than €12,500. After the final sixteen players were redrawn to the final two tables, Richard Dromzee left the stage after he ran his ace-queen into the nine-eight of Olivera who was able to hit trip nines.

The games continued and after a break, Bakrat and Machon held a discussion on a deal and were in agreement. The winner was to continue playing for €40,000 but Bakrat has a guarantee of a minimum of €315,000 and Machon agreed to take €265,000 for the time. After playing a couple of hands back and forth, Machon got in with ace-queen against the ace-ten from Bakrat. Bakrat reacted fast with two and a ten that was on the river filled the full house to earn Bakrat his first ever live win in a tournament.
