Negreanu among leaders entering Day 5 of EPT Grand Final
From the outset the Season 9 PokerStars European Poker Tour Grand Final has seen the cream rise right to the top, and now heading into Day 5 of one of the most prestigious events in poker the final 16 players in the EPT Grand Final Main Event features 11 well-known poker pros including five members of team PokerStars Pro. The biggest name still in the hunt for the EPT Grand Final title is Daniel Negreanu, who could become a Triple Crown winner should he find his way to the winner’s circle.
Joining Negreanu at the final two tables of the tournament will be the likes of chip-leader Andrew Pantling, Johnny Lodden, John Juanda, Freddy Deeb, Victor Ramdin, Noah Schwartz, Steve O’Dwyer, Andrew Lichtenberger, and Jake Cody. Like Negreanu, Freddy Deeb could also join the Triple Crown ranks with a win.
Negreanu has already had an impressive 2013, winning the inaugural WSOP APAC Main Event, which was the fourth seven-figure score of his career and his fifth WSOP bracelet. Should Negreanu win the EPT Grand Final he would pick-up yet another seven-figure score and join Jake Cody, Gavin Griffin, Roland de Wolfe, Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier, and David Kitai as Triple Crown winners.
