Pokerspace Team Poker Series Heats up Over the Holidays

There’s nothing like coming together over the holidays to celebrate poker! Pokerspace’s team poker tournament series, the Crew Cup, continues unabated over November and into the deep cold holiday season of December getting teams of players closer to the grand prize of a poker trip to Las Vegas.

Back on November 21st the Crew Cup Finals Qualifier brought with it a very tight race for a Finals spot, but in the end The Motley Screws edged their way ahead of The Fortress of Solitude by a mere 5 points to snag the only qualifier spot. The Fortress of Solitude would eventually have satisfaction though.

The next Sunday had no shortage of action as the crew DSA, captained by Mafioso22, showed near perfect domination as the crew finished first with 3 players reaching the final table in 3rd, 4th, and 5th place. The big story for the weekend, however, was that both DSA and the second place team, the INTIMIDATORS, bagged double qualifier honors due to the fact that more than 15 crews played that Sunday. This means that even with two Crew Cup Finals’ spots up for grabs, previously qualified crews blocked the competition for the Finals for a whole week. This trend would not last long.

The first December Qualifier was no less interesting as The Syndicate managed to claim the first Clean Sweep award in this year’s Crew Cup. This means that the crew ended with teammates that finished in 1st (SmackDaddy), 2nd (dave062), and 3rd (spiersey) place. Captained by dave062, The Syndicate has been one of the most consistent crews as they haven’t finished lower than 5th place in any Qualifier they have played in up to that point, which may prove to be in their favor in the Finals that spans 4 events in total instead of just one.

Finally, this past Sunday December 12th was topped by the INTIMIDATORS once again earning themselves top spot in the Qualifier and the first triple qualifier award of the Crew Cup 5: Owning Vegas competition. The Fortress of Solitude had their redemption from the month before by netting second place and their own spot in the Crew Cup Finals.

In total there are 10 crews who have made it past the big Qualifier stage of the Crew Cup 5: Owning Vegas competition, and in the coming months there is room for more. With a consistent showing from some impressive, new crews that number will definitely grow. Given that there are also free practice Crew Cup events every Sunday too, it is possible to take home a trip of a life time to Las Vegas without putting a single dollar at stake.

The Pokerspace Crew Cup is a team based online poker tournament series that pits teams of 3-6 players against one another on and Absolute Poker all for a chance to win a fabulous 5-night poker trip to Las Vegas.
