Ryan “toetagU” Fair wins SCOOP Main Event
Online poker pro Ryan Fair, better known as “toetagU” to online poker players, took down a massive $1,162,000 payday when he won the PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker $10,000 Main Event. During three-handed play a deal was briefly discussed, and it was 2nd place finisher Kristoffer “sumpas” Thorsson who refused, and no deal was struck, giving Fair the outright win.
The SCOOP tournaments are unique in that they offer three different buy-in levels, with a champion crowned at each level –Low, a $109 buy-in tournament; Medium, a $1,050 buy-in tournament; and High, a $10,300 buy-in tournament—which offers players of any bankroll a shot at a big payday.
Over the 38 events that make up the SCOOP tournament series a whopping $63 million was awarded in prize-money by PokerStars.
One of the best performances was by Benjamin “Delaney_kid” Delany; the Australian poker pro finished in 9th place in the $10,300 tournament, and in 10th place in the $1,050 tournament! An astonishing accomplishment that could only take place at the online poker tables. Delany’s two cashes were good for $116,000, and had he won both events would be $1.75 million richer.
