Seidel maintains #1 spot on Global Poker Index
Once again the Global Poker Index (GPI) finds the #1 all-time-money-winner in tournament poker history, Erik Seidel, holding its top spot, with now-familiar names Bertrand “ElkY” Grosspellier, Jason Mercier, Eugene Katchalov, and Shawn Buchanan rounding out the Top 5.
One of the big moves in recent weeks on the GPI is the rise of Sam Trickett, who has cracked the Top 10, landing in the #7 hole on the current rankings thanks to his recent win at the Partouche Poker Tour Main Event in Cannes, France.
Overall there was little movement in the Chutes & Ladders-esque GPI rankings over the past week, with most of the big moves being “Chutes” as Daniel Negreanu, Tom Marchese, and Mike “The Grinder” Mizrachi all dropping at least 14 spots.
The only big-name upward-mover was Allen Kessler. “Chainsaw” jumped 14 spots on the GPI up to #63.
Here is a look at the current Top on the GPI tournament rankings:
1. Erik Seidel — 2560.94 points
2. Bertrand Grospellier — 2493.71 points
3. Jason Mercier — 2398.58 points
4. Eugene Katchalov — 2371.55 points
5. Shawn Buchanan — 2331.45 points
6. Samuel Stein — 2178.26 points
