EPTThe PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) London tournament series is one of the most prestigious on the tour and in all of poker. This time around the Main Event and the High-Roller tournament both saw excellent turnouts and produced impressive prize-pools. The two tournaments also produced some very talented final tables, with big names and rising stars in contention for both titles.

EPT London Main Event

The EPT London Main Event was both good and bad, considering that this was the third-largest turnout in the history of the event, but also the second year in a row where attendance has decreased. Still, a prize-pool of over £3 million, with a £700,000 first-place prize is nothing to scoff at.

The final table saw a number of big names return to the Victoria Casino in London including Steve O’Dwyer, Team PokerStars Pro Theo Jorgensen, Ruben Visser, and Lock Poker Pro Chris Moorman. Moorman and O’Dwyer would hit the rail in 8th and 5th place respectively, and Theo Jorgensen’s run ended in 4th place, leaving only Ruben Visser, Mantas Visockis, and Olof Haglund to play for the title, but the three men first decided to cut a deal and chop-up the Top 3 prizes:

• Ruben Visser — £455,000

• Olof Haglund — £427,564

• Mantas Visockis — £377,436

Not only did Visser receive the most money in the deal, but he also claimed the £140,000 the three set aside for the winner of the tournament. Here is a look at the complete final table payouts from the tournament:

1. Ruben Visser — £595,000*

2. Mantas Visockis — £377,436*

3. Olof Haglund — £427,564*

4. Theo Jorgensen — £183,000

5. Steve O’Dwyer — £146,000

6. Christopher Frank — £112,000

7. Tamer Kamel — £79,950

8. Chris Moorman — £57,000

*Three-handed deal

Visser is far from an unknown or unaccomplished player, considering he has over $1 million in career tournament winnings before the EPT London, but the win was the largest of Visser’s career, and his first major win.

EPT London High-Roller Tournament

While the Main Event was playing out the High-Roller tournament was entering an unscheduled third-day after 137 players registered for the event –including reentries. The final table was as star-studded as the Main Event, with Faraz Jaka, Victoria Coren, JC Alvarado, Fabian Quoss, and the absolutely-on-fire Paul Volpe.

Volpe finished in 4th place in the tournament, logging his third six-figure score of the past month. Here is a look at the final table payouts from the event:

1. Talal Shakerchi — £436,330

2. Faraz Jaka — £241,670

3. Fabian Quoss — £147,690

4. Paul Volpe — £107,410

5. Gautam Sabharwal — £87,270

6. Vicky Coren — £67,130

7. JC Alvarado — £53,700
