Sun Poker

Summary

Overall, Sun Poker is an average poker site.  Sun Poker is not really known for anything in terms of poker, instead it shines in the area of customer support.  The tournament schedule leaves more to be desired and the software is lacking in terms of graphics and usability.  There are always plenty of players on Sun Poker, offering games at low, mid and high stakes.  The competition is known to be very tight.  All in all, Sun Poker does not really stand out from the crowd at this point will never truly compete with the bigger online poker rooms.

Features

Sun Poker offers a typical loyalty program where players earn points that can be redeemed by entering tournaments of buying gift shop items.  Depositing onto the site is easy, offering 10 different options.  Sun Poker is home to tight players, where 50% of all the hands dealt out never see a flop, an almost uncanny statistic.  Sun Poker unfortunately does not offer any turbo games, but the game variety is good, offering all omaha games and stud games in addition to NLH.

Bonus

Sun Poker offers a 100% up to $600 matching bonus to all new players. A promotional code should be included to ensure the player receives the bonus.  After that bonus, Sun Poker offers monthly $1,000 reload bonuses, which is very generous compared to any online poker site.

Rakeback

Sun Poker does not offer rakeback.  Instead, players on Sun Poker can receive money back by entering into Sun Poker’s VIP program.

Tournaments

Sun Poker offers a decent tournament schedule, but nothing special.  There is a basic schedule of freerolls, satellites and guaranteed tournaments, but the guarantees are not nearly as big as the guaranteed tournaments of bigger sites.

Traffic

Although it is not a widely known poker room, Sun Poker has been around since the beginning of the poker boom.  At peak hours, Sun Poker altogether has around 5,000 players.  One-Third of the 5,000 players are usually playing ring games.  Although there are only 5,000 players, games of all stakes are usually running.

Software

Sun Poker’s software lacks when compared to the software that other poker sites use.  The lobby is very dull and plain and offers basically no special features.  It is very difficult to navigate, since the different stakes are poorly organized.  Overall, it is poor graphically and has bad functionality.

Support

Support is where Sun Poker shines.  The support team at Sun Poker is top notch.  Regular email support is offered and the help is friendly and accurate.  There is also fax support, live chat support and international phone support.  For the quickest and cheapest support, players are recommended to use the lve chat function.
