If you hadn’t heard, Tony G decided to make a small wager (well, small by his standards) of $20,000 at Matchbook.com, betting on his chances of making the money at the 2011 World Series of Poker Europe Main Event. Well, on Day 3 of the WSOPE Main Event, Tony G reached the money, and on top of his earnings in the tournament Tony G is also $100,000 richer thanks to the 5-to-1 odds he received on his bet at Matchbook.com.

In fact, Tony G not only cashed in the Main Event in Cannes, but managed to survive Day 3, along with 24 other players, of the tournament, albeit as one of the short-stacks.

Tony decided to rub-in his good betting fortune with a few remarks aimed at 2010 WSOPE Main Event winner, and one of Matchbook.com’s owners, James Bord; which you can watch at pokernews.com.

Tony G has been in the poker headlines quite a bit over the past week, first for pondering filing a lawsuit against the AGCC for their handling of the Full Tilt Poker situation, followed by another dustup with Andrew Robl at the poker tables, and most recently for replacing Dario Minieri in the Caesars Cup which he may have to skip thanks to his deep run in the WSOPE Main Event.

We’ll see if Tony can continue his success tomorrow, when the remaining 25 players play down to the final table.
