Tournament Report: LAPT, ANZPT and WSOPC crown winners
After barely registering a heartbeat the week before tournament poker was back around the globe with three events crowning winners from Sydney, Australia to Chile, and several other major tournaments have gotten underway including the latest stop on the PokerStars European Poker Tour in Campione, Italy. So without any further delay here is a look at what has been transpiring on the tournament trail over the past week:
LAPT Chile
The Latin American Poker Tour’s latest stop was in Chile where Aliro Diaz was the winner of the tournament after cutting a 6-way deal with his fellow competitors at the final table. The deal saw Diaz take home the largest share of the prize-pool, $76,000, with 4th place finisher Philipe Velasquez pocketing the second-most at $74,000.
ANZPT Sydney
There was no deal at the PokerStars ANZPT Main Event in Sydney, where Gordon Huntley took home the top prize of $226,812, after besting a final table that included the 2012 Aussie Millions Champion Oliver Speidel (Speidel finished in 6th place). WSOPC Harrah’s Rincon
In Rincon, just outside of San Diego, California, the World Series of Poker Circuit Series hosted a Main Event tournament that saw 332 players register for the $1,500 buy-in tournament. In the end it was Joe Kuether who would come away with the victory after outlasting a final table that included poker pro Freddy Deeb among others.

3. Ryan Gentry – $50,108

FPS Snowfest
Over in France the France Poker Series was taking place on the shores of Lake Geneva at the Casino d’Evian. Amongst the nine players who made the final table from the starting field of 296 players was a man who took over ESPN’s coverage of the 2011 WSOP Main Event, Guillame Darcourt. Darcourt finished the tournament in 4th place, with the top honor in the €1,100 buy-in tournament going to an online qualifier names Veronika Pavlikova.

EPT Campione
This week also saw the start of the latest stop on the European Poker Tour in Campione, Italy. The two starting days produced a field of 570 players, swelling the prize-pool to €2,764,500. The winner of the event will walk away with a €640,000 payday.
