UK in line for third WSOP bracelet of 2011

We are down to just three players in the $1k No Limit Holdem tournament at the 2011 World Series of Poker, and the final three combatants includes two UK residents and a lone American still in contention, Jon “PearlJammer” Turner.

Even though Turner is by far the most experienced of the remaining players, he has a lot of work to do considering he only has a chip-stack of 1,680,000 compared to Sean Getzwiller’s 3,000,000 chips and Sadan Turker’s 7,910,000.

The tournament was also a victim of a bit of controversy as Jon Turner noticed some strange markings on the cards shortly after reaching the final table. According to BLUFF Magazine, the 2-5 of Spades all had a similar mark on the back, and when a new deck was opened the same marks were present! Fortunately the marks were only noticeable under the lights of the featured table, so play was moved to an outer table. Perhaps Ali Tekintamgac is now in the playing card production business???

Here is a look at the final table payouts from last night’s action, as well as the top three prizes the remaining players are fighting over:

1. 1st place – $611,185

2. 2nd place — $377,411

3. 3rd place — $274,005

4. Max Weinberg — $201,433

5. Stefan Raffay — $149,392

6. Lawrence Riley — $111,753

7. Hunter Frey — $84,341

8. Daniel Haglund — $64,186

9. Odette Tremblay — $49,258

10. Jonathan Driscoll — $38,128
