World Poker Tour Jacksonville down to final table

Monday was a very long day of poker in Florida (where players can now bet on virtually anything thanks to the 2010 law expanding gambling to everything but volleyball betting it seems), as the 42 players that started Day 3 of the World Poker Tour Jacksonville Main Event needed to play down to the final table of just six players, not to mention burst the money bubble along the way.

By the end of day most of the big names had fallen by the wayside including 2010 Borgata Poker Open Champion Dwyte Pilgrim, Nick Grippo, Micah Raskin, and Chris Tryba, but a couple of well-known players did manage to make it to the untelevised final table (the first-ever WPT Championship event held in the US that will not hit the airwaves) including Darryll Fish and Lisa Hamilton.

Hamilton is the 2009 WSOP Ladies Champion, and has cashed four times in the past three years at the WSOP, as well as having a final table in the $25k High-Roller tournament at the 2010 PCA on her resume –The WPT is still looking to crown its first Open-Champion after ten years, and it would be a shame if Hamilton accomplished the feat in the one tournament that will not be televised! If you want to see if Hamilton can make history, you can watch a live stream of the final table at the WPT website Worldpokertour.com. Hamilton will start the final table in 3rd place with just over 1.9 million chips.

Fish is amongst the group of young online players turned live tournament pros, and he will be making his second WPT final table appearance of 2011 –Fish finished 6th at the LA Poker Classic. The consummate tournament grinder, Fish has never seen a tournament he didn’t like, and has a very impressive 14 WSOP cashes over the past three years. Fish will be the short-stack at the final table, with his 641,000 chips constituting a mere 26 big blinds.

Hamilton, Fish, and the rest of the remaining players will have a lot of work to do in order to overtake the current chip-leader Anthony Roberto who will start the final table with 4.5 million in chips, nearly double the next largest chip-stack of 2.5 million, held by Vitor Coelho.

Here is a look at the chip-counts and seating assignments for the six remaining players in the WPT Jacksonville Main Event:

* Seat 1: Darryll Fish – 641,000

* Seat 2: Anthony Roberto – 4,500,000

* Seat 3: Sam Soverel – 1,432,000

* Seat 4: Vitor Coelho – 2,570,000

* Seat 5: Artie Rodriguez – 797,000

* Seat 6: Lisa Hamilton – 1,901,000
