On Wednesday the World Poker Tour (WPT) released the first half of their schedule for Season XI, giving players a look at the upcoming stops in 2012. The Main tour features 11 Championship stops, including a new focus on Europe, as well as the long-standing stops players have come to know and love on the WPT like the Legends of Poker, the Borgata Poker Open, and the Five Diamonds World Poker Classic. Season XI will begin August 4th, 2011 in Cyprus, with 2012 winding down at the Five Diamonds Poker Classic which takes place the week before Christmas.

The WPT also released the Regional and National schedule for 2012, featuring 13 separate tournament series that will take place in locales from Florida to Wisconsin and from Spain to the Czech Republic.

“World Poker Tour is committed to extending its global reach,” said Steve Heller, WPT CEO. “Not only will Season XI feature new stops in the US and abroad, but World Poker Tour is also widely expanding our Regional and National Series to deliver the WPT experience to as many players and fans as possible.”
